Parent leaders - Julia Carneiro

Julia Carneiro is the founder and chairwoman of amplify, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children with hearing loss. Born and raised in Kenya with Indian heritage, she migrated to the U.S. as a teenager and earned a dual degree in International Business, studying in Boston and Reutlingen, Germany. With a professional background in project management for international corporates, she combines strategic expertise with heartfelt purpose. 

As a mother of three — one daughter and two sons — her journey took a new direction when her youngest son was born with a hearing disability. Grateful for the information and support her family received, yet aware of existing gaps, she founded amplify to help bridge those divides. The organisation is committed to ensuring families, teachers, and caregivers, regardless of circumstance, have access to best practices and resources. Through amplify, Julia strives to empower communities to better support children with hearing loss.
